在2024年11月29日，旅游与城乡规划学院国际留学生与老师一行10余人前往杭州马可波罗酒店参观考察。此次活动由吴俊教授和Ankie带队，全程陪同学生们参观和学习。杭州马可波罗假日酒店是一家倡导欧式经典风格的老牌四星级酒店，是浙江省特色文化主题金鼎饭店，酒店地处杭州市繁华地段的平海路，距离西湖仅百米之遥，地理位置极佳。
On November 29, 2024, more than 10 international students and faculty members from the School of Tourism and Urban-Rural Planning visited the Marco Polo Hotel in Hangzhou for a tour and observation. The event was led by Professor Wu Jun and Ankie, who accompanied the students throughout the visit and learning session. The Marco Polo Holiday Hotel in Hangzhou is a well-established four-star hotel that promotes a classic European style. It is recognized for its unique cultural theme in Zhejiang province. The hotel is located on Pinghai Road, in a bustling area of Hangzhou, just a hundred meters from West Lake, offering an excellent location.
酒店总经理俞凌女士热情地接待了留学生，与留学生们亲切交流座谈，介绍了马可波罗与杭州的故事，并热情地邀请留学生们品尝杭州特产榨菜月饼。留学生们积极地与酒店管理层进行了互动，酒店管理人员对留学生们的中文表达能力与专业素养表示了赞赏。
The hotel's General Manager, Ms. Yu Ling, warmly welcomed the international students and engaged in a friendly discussion with them. She shared the story of Marco Polo and its connection to Hangzhou, and enthusiastically invited the students to taste the local specialty, pickled vegetable mooncakes. The international students actively interacted with the hotel management, and the hotel staff expressed their admiration for the students' Chinese language skills and professional competence.
接着，留学生们在酒店管理人员的陪同下，参观了酒店的多个功能区域，包括客房、餐饮区、会议室和休闲设施。特别值得一提的是，酒店独具特色的露营房吸引了大家的注意。酒店为客房提供了消毒柜、露营装备背包和登山杖等物品，让学生们大开眼界，体验了不同于传统酒店的独特住宿方式。
Next, the international students, accompanied by the hotel management, toured several functional areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, dining areas, meeting rooms, and leisure facilities. Notably, the hotel's unique camping-themed rooms caught everyone's attention. The hotel provides items such as disinfection cabinets, camping backpacks, and trekking poles for the guest rooms, giving the students a fascinating experience and offering a distinctive lodging experience unlike traditional hotels.
学生们还参观了马可波罗之家，深入了解了马可波罗的历史背景与他对杭州的赞赏。这一部分展示了马可波罗的游记，带领学生们更好地理解了西方世界如何通过马可波罗的眼睛认识中国和杭州的魅力。
The students also visited the Marco Polo House, where they gained a deeper understanding of Marco Polo's historical background and his admiration for Hangzhou. This section showcased Marco Polo's travel diaries, helping the students better understand how the Western world viewed China and the charm of Hangzhou through Marco Polo's eyes.
参观结束后，酒店管理层与留学生进行交流，征求同学们对于酒店的意见，并分享了酒店运营、市场营销和客户管理等方面的经验，并特别提到，如何根据不同市场需求灵活制定产品策略，满足各类客群的需求。国际生们积极参与讨论，分享了他们对酒店产品设计的见解，并讨论了未来职业规划和发展方向。
After the tour, the hotel management engaged in a discussion with the international students, seeking their feedback on the hotel and sharing insights on hotel operations, marketing, and customer management. They particularly highlighted how to develop flexible product strategies based on different market demands to meet the needs of various customer groups. The international students actively participated in the discussion, sharing their perspectives on hotel product design and discussing their future career plans and development directions.
通过此次参观，国际生们对酒店行业的创新与运营有了更深入的了解，特别是在品牌建设、客户服务和文化融合方面的创新举措。这次活动不仅拓宽了他们的国际视野，也激发了他们对酒店管理行业的浓厚兴趣，为未来的学术和职业发展提供了宝贵的启发。
Through this visit, the international students gained a deeper understanding of innovation and operations in the hotel industry, particularly in areas such as brand building, customer service, and cultural integration. This activity not only broadened their international perspectives but also sparked a strong interest in the hotel management industry, providing valuable inspiration for their future academic and career development.
